Xiamen is a bustling city that has a relaxing coastal charm with a population of 1.3M. The city was known as Amoy in earlier times when the Ming established a major seaport and commercial centre. Portuguese, British, French and Dutch influenced development from the 16th century. The city was occupied by the Japanese from 1938 until 1945. The neighbouring island of Gulang Yu is an enchanting retreat without a single car on the island and can only be reached by ferry.A 5 minutes boat trip from downtown Xiamen, Gulang Yu Island is a must for all visitors! Simply wander around and appreciate the old building at leisure.then back Cycle along the Island Ring Road in the east coast of Xiamen.

Day by Day Itinerary

Xiamen One Day Tour

Pick up from hotel in the morning, transfer to the ferry for a 7-minute boat trip to Gulangyu. Take a peaceful walk and appreciate various old buildings before visiting Hi Heaven, the largest old villa on the island where you can enjoy ancient South Music performance and traditional Puppet Show; also visit Shuzhuang Garden, a beautiful seaside garden and the famous Piano Museum with a collection of 80-fold rare old pianos from all over the world Then back to Xiamen for lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, taste some famous Oolong tea in a local tea house. Visit South Putuo Temple, the most famous Buddhist temple in town and Hulishan Fortress, which houses the world's biggest canon for coastal defense followed by a scenic drive on the Island Ring Road along the East Coast of Xiamen before transferring back to Hotel.
