Consulates in Xiamen

There are currently three countries from around the world locate their Consulate Generals in Xiamen. There are Singapore, The Philippines and Thailand.

 

1) Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore

 

On October 25, 1995, China and Singapore reached an agreement on establishing the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore in Xiamen. Mr. Lin Minghe, the first Singapore Consul-General, arrived in Xiamen on January 10, 1996.

 

The Consulate General first located at the Harborview Holiday Inn, and then moved to UOB (United Overseas Bank) Building in December, 1996. Finally, it was relocated in the Bank Center, Xiahe Road.

 

The consular area of Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore in Xiamen covers Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province in accordance with the agreement. The Consul-General is Ms. Tee Bee Lock

Visa Hours: Monday - Friday  9:00 am to 11:30 am (application)  4:00 pm to 4:30 pm (collection)

2) Consulate General of Kingdom of Thailand

 

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC and Thai Embassy in China reached an agreement through an exchange of notes on the establishment of Thai Consular Agency in Xiamen on October 10, 2004, and the agreement came into effect immediately.

 

Its jurisdiction area covered Fujian Province. Approved by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC, it was elevated to Consulate General and the jurisdiction area was expanded to Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province.

 

Mr. Wisanu Berananda, the first consul-general arrived in Xiamen and assumed office on February 17, 2005. Now the consulate is located in City Hotel, Xiamen.

3) Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen

 

The Philippine Embassy in China proposed an official application to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC for setting up Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Xiamen in November, 1994. The two nations reached an agreement to establish consulates in both countries in December of the same year.

 

Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen covered the jurisdiction area of Fujian Province, Guangdong Province and Hainan Province. Located in No. 2 Ling Xiang Li, Lianhua District, the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen formally opened on January 1995 with the Honorable Benito B. Valeriano as Head of post.

 

Now Ms. Emelinda Lee-Pineda takes the position. In May 1997, area of jurisdiction was further amended and currently consists of the provinces of Fujian and Jiangxi.
